Almost every female has experienced back pain at least once in life. For those who have a sedentary lifestyle and sitting job, this back pain is more common.

  • Lower back pain in females is not always associated with spine disorders or muscular issues. 
  • Any problem in internal organs like kidneys, womb, ovaries, etc., may also cause back pain in women.

#1. PMS (Pre Menstrual Syndrome)

Many women get PMS before getting their periods. There are many symptoms associated with it. But, you won’t have all these symptoms. We can divide PMS symptoms broadly into physical and emotional symptoms.

  • Physical symptoms: Physical symptoms include headache, lower back pain, bloating, fatigue, etc. 
  • Emotional or behavioral symptoms: food cravings, anxiety, mood swings, etc. It means you may have lower back pain because of your PMS.
#2. Endometriosis

Endometrial tissue is the tissue that lines the uterus wall. When this endometrial tissue grows outside the uterus, this condition is known as endometriosis.  In this condition, the endometrial tissue grows over the fallopian tube, ovaries, and other tissues of the pelvis. 

Pain is a primary symptom of endometriosis. Along with this, painful menstrual cramps, lower back pain, pain while urinating during periods, etc., are also symptoms of this condition. 

#3. PMDD (Premenstrual Dysmorphic Disorder)

It is just a severe form of PMS. The symptoms may also be as same as in PMS, but they will be worse. Females suffering from PMDD also face trouble in their daily activities due to this while having symptoms. Lesser women have PMDD than PMS.  It starts about a week before periods and also lasts even after a few days of your period. 

#4. Pregnancy

During pregnancy, lower back pain is very common. Back pain may occur from the end of the second trimester to starting of the third trimester of pregnancy. 

#5. Dysmenorrhea

In simple words, we can explain this condition as having very painful menstruation. It may be mild or may be severe in some people too. One can feel the pain from dysmenorrhea in the lower back, lower abdomen, hips, etc. This pain lasts for up to 3 days.
